ADDISON, ILLINOIS — Pat Mooney Saws, the North American sales and support headquarters for high-performance metal saws and saw blades, is debuting two new machines at IMTS 2024 in Chicago from September 9th – 14th at booth 237008. The new machines featured are the PMI-NC18 LS Crosscut Automatic Production Saw for Aluminum and the FMB Athena H41A Enclosed Automatic Horizontal Bandsaw.
Additionally, Pat Mooney Saws is celebrating its 75th anniversary in business in 2024, and to commemorate the achievement, the first Nishijimax saw introduced at IMTS in 1996 will be displayed. It was the first saw of its kind ever displayed in the USA. In 1996, companies had to use shears or bandsaws to production cut with minimal kerf loss. The Nishijimax Hi-Cut Carbide Saw revolutionized the metal cutting industry with high sawing rates and the ability to use thin kerf saw blades.
The Athena H41A is a dual-column production fully automatic bandsaw that comes standard with a full enclosure. It has two large columns filled with polymer concrete to absorb vibration and support the large cast saw head. The machine’s large 10” touchscreen control provides complete visibility of the machine’s operation. The control can store 100 programs. Each program stores the cut lengths, quantities, material dimension, material shape, and material grade (with feed rate and saw blade speed). Setup is easy with a material table detailing recommended feed rates and saw blade speeds.
The PMI-NC18 LS-Type is a fully automatic high-production saw with a compact footprint that will cut parts to a precise length. The saw offers servo-controlled feed rate and material indexing and a powerful 10 HP saw motor. The machine’s clamping system handles bundle/stack cutting multiple parts at once. The heavy-duty saw’s part/table separation eliminates recuts as the saw blade retracts to its home position.
The PMI-NC18 LS-type’s crosscut saw head gives it the versatility to cut small solids, bundles/stacks of hollow profiles and single hollow profiles with limited adjustments. The easy-to-use controls make this the perfect machine for any shop production cutting aluminum.
