
Founded in 1950, Walker Forge is a family-owned manufacturer specializing in custom closed-die steel forgings for demanding industrial applications. Now led by third-generation CEO Willard T. Walker Jr., the company produces carbon, alloy, and stainless-steel components for the automotive, construction, diesel engine, energy, railroad, agriculture, industrial, and recreational equipment markets.
Using a closed-die forging process, Walker Forge heats special bar quality (SBQ) steel and forges each part to precise customer specifications. Consistent, accurate material preparation is critical to maintaining quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Nearly 30 years ago, Walker Forge needed a more efficient and dependable way to cut a wide range of steel materials while maintaining the tight tolerances required for forged components. The company wanted equipment capable of delivering consistent accuracy, long-term reliability, and dependable performance across a variety of steel grades.
After evaluating its options, Walker Forge purchased its first Nishijimax high-speed circular saw from Pat Mooney Saws.
That first machine quickly proved its value. Over the years, Walker Forge continued expanding its operation with additional Nishijimax saws.
Today, the company operates seven Nishijimax high-speed circular saws, ranging from the NHC-110 to the NHC-160, allowing operators to process steel from 1-inch to 6-inch diameters.
By matching the proper saw blade tooth count to each material and diameter, Walker Forge achieves efficient cutting while maintaining the precision required for its forging operation.

Walker Forge regularly cuts everything from 1020 carbon steel to stainless steel. According to the company's operators, the Nishijimax saws maintain tight tolerances throughout an entire production run, reducing the need for adjustments once the machine is set up.

The durability of the equipment has allowed Walker Forge to keep the same machines in production for many years.
One Nishijimax NHC-150 has been operating for nearly 13 years while requiring very little service beyond scheduled preventive maintenance.
